bitterness

During our prayer time this morning with some of the youth in our Church, our leader said something about bitterness that really struck me. He said "Bitterness is a poison we drink, hoping it'll kill the other."

That struck me as so true. It's a common mindset to be bitter and think that by being bitter, we're somehow punishing the person we are bitter at. Really, we are killing ourselves by drinking of that poison. Bitterness is a dangerous thing. If it isn't killed at it's roots, it will ultimately kill us.

I was thinking after the prayer time, and for some reason this song came to my mind, not that it had anything to do with what we were praying about. But it's an amazingly encouraging song. I'm thinking about maybe playing it at my wedding (when the time comes).
