"Laughter is the outward expression of joy. Love and laugh today."

Where I belong
Switchfoot

Feeling like a refugee
Like it don't belong to me
The colors flash across the sky

This air feels strange to me
Feeling like a tragedy
I take a deep breath and close my eyes
One last time
One last time

Storms on the wasteland
Dark clouds on the plains again
We were born into the fight

But I'm not sentimental
This skin and bones is a rental
And no one makes it out alive

Until I die I'll sing these songs
On the shores of Babylon
Still looking for a home
In a world where I belong

Where the weak are finally strong
Where the righteous right the wrongs
Still looking for a home
In a world where I belong

Feels like we're just waiting, waiting
While our hearts are just breaking, breaking
Feels like we've been fighting against the tide

I wanna see the earth start shaking
I wanna see a generation
Finally waking up inside

Until I die I'll sing these songs
On the shores of Babylon
Still looking for a home
In a world where I belong

Where the weak are finally strong
Where the righteous right the wrongs
Still looking for a home
In a world where I belong
This body's not my own
This world is not my own
But I still can hear the sound
Of my heart beating out
So let's go boys, play it loud

On the final day I die
I want to hold my head up high
I want to tell You that I tried
To live it like a song

And when I reach the other side
I want to look You in the eye
And know that I've arrived
In a world where I belong
In a world where I belong
In a world where I belong

Where I belong
Where I belong

Where I belong

Where I belong

I still believe we can live forever
You and I we begin forever now
Forever now
Forever
I still believe in us together
You and I we're here together now
Together now
Forever now

So, blogger is against me. You've seen a bunch of posts that are weird, and that's because it won't let me upload videos, or even copy them!!!! I'm gonna try and fix it tomorrow. . .

So. . . hold to your hats. . . you all know how I went to the NeedToBreathe concert friday night???  Well, for one it was UH-MAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And two, you're not going to believe this, but this Friday is my Mom's Birthday. . . she's turning 24 :D, and Friday also happens to be the Switchfoot concert. . . and so my Dad's taking her. . . and it get's better. . . they bought tickets for all of us boys to come along too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Mom said it wouldn't be completely awesome unless all of us boys came along!!  Aren't they awesome!!!!!!!!!!  'Cause I totally think they are the bomb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I pretty much grew up on Switchfoot.  They were the first real rock band that I ever listened to.  And they are UH-MAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Still one of my favorites!!!!!!  My parents actually bought the tickets a few months ago, but kept it a secret until yesterday.  I can't wait!!!!  Getting to see two of my favorite bands, LIVE, how much better can it get???  There's only one possible way for it to get better. . . Seabird, NeedToBreathe, and Switchfoot all touring together. . . that would be UH-MAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  (getting tired of me saying that yet???) :D

Btw. . . that song that I posted was called "My God" by The City Harmonic.

I lift my eyes up. . . in these days of trouble. . .

I really wanted to post earlier. . . but I had no idea what to post. . . guess what. . . I still have no idea what to post on.
. . .
. . .
. . .
. . .
. . .
. . .
So. . . I'm trying (as I type) to think of something passable to slide under the radar.  I'm nowhere near as random as Bleah, or I would have a post up alread. . . so what if I do a good 'ole fashion post, somewhat like my 3 nail liberty blog???  Post up some lyrics, and call it a day??

I lift my eyes up,
in these days of trouble.
Will my help come from You?
And if I stumble,
will You pick me up?
What else could a father do?
Well, You know just where I’m going.
You made the open road.
So take my hand, Lord, and lead me home.

Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
I lift my heart up,
whether it’s whole or broken,
good God I know You’re gonna work it out.
So on my heart beats
to a beat that I put my hope in
the love of my God pouring out.

Yeah
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
I will sing, sing, sing and You will be my song.
Yeah

I’m gonna sing it like it’s everything to me,
I’m gonna sing it like the deep calling out to deep
I’m gonna sing it like it’s all I’ve got
‘Cause all that I want is to sing for the love of God.

I'm gonna sing it like it's everything to me,
I'm gonna sing it like the deep calling out to deep.
I'm gonna sing it like it's all I've got
'Cause all that I want is to sing, sing, sing.

This is such a beautiful song, I love it.  Tomorrow(maybe) I'll have a really good song to put up.  It's off of NeedToBreathe's new album. . . one of my favorite songs ever.  It has really awesome bagpipes. . . yup, you heard me right, bagpipes. . .

Constant

So me and one of my best bro's are leading worship tonight for Bible Study, and we are bother extremely excited!!!  This is one of the songs we are doing;

So cool story (maybe).  At N.C. they did this song a few times during worship, and when we (me and my friends) came home, we started talking about which song was our favorite, and everyone said that this was.  It is an amazing song, and has awesome lyrics.  Listen to it, and tell me is you like it.

"'Cause if I do this by myself, I'm scared that I'll succeed
And no longer trust in you, 'cause I only trust in me"

I mean seriously!?!?!?  Who's scared of success??  I'll tell you, Lecrae is.  And he has a very good reason to be too.  In his song Background he also says:  "Me, I'm just going to trust you, You cause the dice to land.  I'm in control of nothing, follow you at any cost.  Some call it sovereign will, all I know is you the boss."  Every time I hear that I laugh, but I am reminded of how true that saying is.  So my new motto is "Me, I'm just going to trust you."

Check out the song if you aren't too opposed to rap.  :D

1 Peter 1:22 Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart, 23 for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God. 24 For, “ALL FLESH IS LIKE GRASS, AND ALL ITS GLORY LIKE THE FLOWER OF GRASS. THE GRASS WITHERS, AND THE FLOWER FALLS OFF, 25 BUT THE WORD OF THE LORD ENDURES FOREVER.”

Okay, so the answer for the question (that I should have answered a few days ago) is actually number 3. But in my HO if you ever encounter an alien trying to abduct you: 1 stop taking drugs or alcohol, or 2 wake up, you're probably sleeping.

Anywho, jtlyk tomorrow I will be having surgery (wisdom teeth), and so I don't know if I'll be up to posting anytime soon. So don't be hanging over my blog, refreshing the page every ten seconds waiting with baited breath for my next post. I know y'all do that *cough*. Yeah, I'll probably be sleeping, eating Ice Cream, listening to Seabird, reading, or watching a movie. I'll be busy, lol :)

Yup, so with that I'll sign off. But before I do, just remember, if I post up a really goofy, stupid, nonsensical post, disregard it, I'll probably still be under the anesthetics. (If I post up that I've been abducted by aliens, just ignore me :)

Check-ya-later!

Completely random. . .

Okay so I was reading some worst-case scenario cards yesterday while playing the Settlers of Catan with the boyos and I came across this one: How to foil a UFO abduction.
1: Never travel alone in the woods. No UFO abduction has ever involved more than7 people.
2: Dress like a tourist and carry cameras and a map. Appear willing to go with aliens.
Or 3: Focus your thoughts towards the alien. Tell it, "leave me alone. Go away, I have a virus."

Which one do you think it is?

Psalm 40:16-17

16 Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You;
Let such as love Your salvation say continually,
“The LORD be magnified!”
17 But I am poor and needy;
Yet the LORD thinks upon me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
Do not delay, O my God.

bitterness

During our prayer time this morning with some of the youth in our Church, our leader said something about bitterness that really struck me. He said "Bitterness is a poison we drink, hoping it'll kill the other."

That struck me as so true. It's a common mindset to be bitter and think that by being bitter, we're somehow punishing the person we are bitter at. Really, we are killing ourselves by drinking of that poison. Bitterness is a dangerous thing. If it isn't killed at it's roots, it will ultimately kill us.

I was thinking after the prayer time, and for some reason this song came to my mind, not that it had anything to do with what we were praying about. But it's an amazingly encouraging song. I'm thinking about maybe playing it at my wedding (when the time comes).

yes i did

hey y'all! i have some good news! i fractured my knee last night playing frisbee at youth group. went the the er and waited for three hours before i finally got the diagnosis. then i got a knee-immobilizer, and a pair of crutches. it's hard to get around the house, but thank God i have a whole army of prayer warriors behind me (youth group and teenpacters around the state.) so by God's grace i will be able to heal quickly and have no long lasting injuries to my knee. God bless y'all and have an awesome week!

Psalm 118

1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
his love endures forever.
2 Let Israel say:
“His love endures forever.”
3 Let the house of Aaron say:
“His love endures forever.”
4 Let those who fear the LORD say:
“His love endures forever.”

5 When hard pressed, I cried to the LORD;
he brought me into a spacious place.
6 The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?
7 The LORD is with me; he is my helper.
I look in triumph on my enemies.

8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD
than to trust in humans.
9 It is better to take refuge in the LORD
than to trust in princes.
10 All the nations surrounded me,
but in the name of the LORD I cut them down.
11 They surrounded me on every side,
but in the name of the LORD I cut them down.
12 They swarmed around me like bees,
but they were consumed as quickly as burning thorns;
in the name of the LORD I cut them down.
13 I was pushed back and about to fall,
but the LORD helped me.
14 The LORD is my strength and my defense[a];
he has become my salvation.

15 Shouts of joy and victory
resound in the tents of the righteous:
“The LORD’s right hand has done mighty things!
16 The LORD’s right hand is lifted high;
the LORD’s right hand has done mighty things!”
17 I will not die but live,
and will proclaim what the LORD has done.
18 The LORD has chastened me severely,
but he has not given me over to death.
19 Open for me the gates of the righteous;
I will enter and give thanks to the LORD.
20 This is the gate of the LORD
through which the righteous may enter.
21 I will give you thanks, for you answered me;
you have become my salvation.

22 The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;
23 the LORD has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes.
24 The LORD has done it this very day;
let us rejoice today and be glad.

25 LORD, save us!
LORD, grant us success!

26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD.
From the house of the LORD we bless you.[b]
27 The LORD is God,
and he has made his light shine on us.
With boughs in hand, join in the festal procession
up[c] to the horns of the altar.

28 You are my God, and I will praise you;
you are my God, and I will exalt you.

29 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
his love endures forever.

Let Your Love be Strong

Let Your Love be Strong
Switchfoot

In this world of news, I've found nothing new
I've found nothing pure
Maybe I'm just idealistic to assume that truth
Could be fact and form
That love could be a verb
Maybe I'm just a little misinformed

As the dead moon rises, and the freeways sigh
Let the trains watch over the tides and the mist
Spinning circles in our skies tonight
Let the trucks roll in from Los Angeles
Maybe our stars are unanimously tired

Let your love be strong, and I don't care what goes down
Let your love be strong enough to weather through the thunder cloud
Fury and thunder clap like stealing the fire from your eyes
All of my world hanging on your love

Let the wars begin, let my strength wear thin
Let my fingers crack, let my world fall apart
Train the monkeys on my back to fight
Let it start tonight
When my world explodes, when my stars touch the ground
Falling down like broken satellites

Let your love be strong, and I don't care what goes down
Let your love be strong enough to weather through the thunder cloud
Fury and thunder clap like stealing the fire from your skies
All that I am hanging on
All of my world resting on your love

100th

Sooooo. . . this is my 100th post, and I still have no idea what to post on. I didn't take any pic's of NC, so I can't do a post on it. But I will say that we did pretty amazing at Frisbee, considering that most of us were new, and hadn't played Frisbee much before. We tied for second out of twenty+ teams.

So now I'm kinda out of things to post on so I guess I'll just post up a song and hope that y'all will like it.

This was one song we did at NC, and I really liked it. So much in fact that the day after I got home I got the music and learned the song on the piano and guitar.

Just like the sunshine
You have been our light
Leading us into beautiful places
We’ve walked through fire
But You made us brighter
Leading us into beautiful places

Faithful Jesus, healing savior
Compass, center, bread of life
Faithful Jesus, cherished treasure
Our portion, wisdom, God’s great light

Just like the starlight
You shine in the black night
Leading us into beautiful places
Just like the atmosphere
You’ve come to surround us here
Leading us into beautiful places

Faithful Jesus, healing savior
Compass, center, bread of life
Faithful Jesus, cherished treasure
Our portion, wisdom God’s great light

God You are here with us
Constantly here with us
You are our everything
Faithful and true

Sorry about the cheesy post and for not having posted in a while, but I've been super busy.

A recent letter

Soon after I got back from Teenpact in Feb, I mailed a letter to the Secretary of State for Arkansas, Mark Martin. This is what he said in reply:

Psalms 62:1-2
1 My soul waits in silence for God only;
From Him is my salvation.
2 He only is my rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken.

You were right. . . I was bless by David's confidence in God and instruction to put no trust in worldy things.

Dear Kyler,
It is encouraging to me that perhaps the most encouraging and edifying letters I have recieved came from a young person. Thank You! I look forward to seeing you at a future TEENPACT event.

Sincerely,
Mark Martin

When I wrote him I put some scripture that I thought would be encouraging to him, including Psalm 62:1-2. Appearently he liked it!

5-6, 2 minutes left, kyler's sprinting up the field, defenders just behind him. . .

we had yet another game last Monday night, it was the closest we've ever been to winning a certain team, and I'm confident, one more time and we will beat them. It was a really close game, i just can't wait until Saturday when we get to play them again. I did take home a nice set of cleat marks on my chest where a guy slid into me while playing goal keeper. it was all swollen and bruised, but it's getting better. Lord willing we will be able to win this upcoming tournament and bring home the trophy. i can't wait to tell y'all the outcome on saturday! have an awesome day, God bless.

Only two weeks!!

I've been really busy lately, so don't be mad at me. I felt like I owed y'all a post for being such awesome followers, but I have no clue what to post on. I could tell y'all that I'm leaving in a few weeks to go to TN, but I'm sure y'all wouldn't want to hear about that. . . Oh you would? Well in a few weeks a couple of friends and I are going to TN for NC (national convention(teenpact)). We get to play ultimate frisbee, and get to meet a ton of cool people. I'm syked!!! I'm gonna have a blast!!!! I'm not going to leave for a while so you don't have to get sad yet. That comes when I'm gone, in the meantime, try to get used to the thought of me being gone for a week. . . I know, hard. It's okay, it's only a measly little week, I'll be back soon enough. But wait! I've been acting like I'm already gone, too bad, you're stuck with me for another two and a half weeks! Bummer! Oh wait you think you might be able to live normally without me?!?! Well I know I wouldn't be able to live without me for any period of time! (I know, poor attempt at humor). Hope y'all don't miss me too much (that probably won't be too hard). Chow!

I just got to watch a really good movie called saints and soldiers

The main character, affectionately called Deacon by his sarge, after his mormon religeon.

It's a really good movie, but i wouldn't recommend it to anyone under thirteen. It's rated PG-13 for language and violence. It does get pretty bloody, but it's a war movie. If you can handle it. . . watch it.

5-0

second game of the season today, lost 5-0. bummer. it was an extremely rough game, because fayetville is a really physical team. all i got from the game was a seven inch bruise on my thigh from diving while playing goalkeeper.

on the bright side, i just had an awesome sleep over at my best friends house, stayed up til two and woke up at eight, it was totally legit!

a wise quote:

"I made you to carry the weight of one day. Do not weigh yourself down with the years behind or the days ahead."

remmember, worrying is a sin, it means we aren't completely putting our trust in God to make all things work together for good, to those who love him. even though we got beat twice this week, i'm okay, i just gotta remmember to put all my trust in God, and look to him for everything i need.

Ky

i want to thank all those who prayed for us.

Ky

first game, first loss. . .

so last night our first game of the season (soccer). it was a good game, but we still got beat, 5-1. we played really good, considering that they scored their last two goals on off-sides positions, and one from a pk. it was disappointing, but still a great game, next time, next time. . . our next game is saturday and i can't wait! any prayers would be welcome (they don't necessarily have to be for us to win, but maybe just that no one gets hurt.) i hope we win sometime this season! (pretty sure we will though.) hope y'all have a wonderful week! Ky

wait, yes! sunday night we made a movie! called, the fbi sellout, for those of y'all who follow kade's (my older brother) blog you might have seen the movie he put up, rainbo, or maybe even the fbi sellout, but i was in both. i was the hostage in rainbo and one of the Shrkill terrorist trying to stop the agents in the fbi sellout. both of the movies are really good, you can see them if you follow kade on facebook.

we are also working on airsoft III (for those of y'all who have seen the other two) and it's going to be awesome (i'm in that one too).

we love to make movies, and it is a lot of fun! you should try it out sometime!

background

i know that some of y'all probably don't like rap much, but this song by Lecrea has really stood out to me. it's an amazing song. he's basically giving his life over to Jesus, asking him just to be sovereign in his life. if you could bear it, look it up and make it the prayer of your life.

Background
Lecrae

I could play the background
I could play the background
'Cause I know sometimes I get in the way
So won't You take the lead?
So won't You take the lead?
And I could play the background, background
And you could take the lead

It's evident you run the show, so let me back down
You take the leading role, and I'll play the background
I know I miss my cues, know I forget my lines
I'm sticking to your script, and I'm reading all your signs (Aye)
I don't need my name in lights, (Aye) I don't need a starring role
Why gain the whole wide world, If I'm just going lose my soul?

And my ways ain't purified, don't live according to Your Word
I can't endure this life without Your wisdom being heard
So word to every dancer for a pop star
'Cause we all play the background, but mine's a rockstar
Yeah, so if you need me I'll be stage right
Praying the whole world would start embracing stage fright
So let me fall back, stop giving my suggestions
'Cause when I follow my obsessions, I end up confessin'
That I'm not that impressive, matter of fact
I'm who I are, a trail of stardust leading to the superstar

I could play the background
I could play the background
'Cause I know sometimes I get in the way
So won't You take the lead?
So won't You take the lead?
And I could play the background, background
And you could take the lead

Yo, I had a dream that I was captain of my soul
I was master of my fate, lost control, and then I sank
So I don't want to take the lead, 'cause I'm prone to make mistakes
All these folks who follow me, goin' end up in the wrong place
So just let me shadow you, just let me trace your lines
Matter of fact, just take my pen, here, you create my rhymes
'Cause if I do this by myself, I'm scared that I'll succeed
And no longer trust in You, 'cause I only trust in me
And see, that's how you end up headed to destruction
Paving a road to nowhere, pour your life out for nothin'
You pulled my card, I'm bluffin', You know what's in my hand
Me, I just roll and trust you, You cause the dice to land
I'm in control of nothing, follow You at any cost
Some call it sovereign will, all I know is you the boss
And man, I'm so at ease, I'm so content
I'll play the background, like it's an instrument

I could play the background
I could play the background
'Cause I know sometimes I get in the way
So won't You take the lead?
So won't You take the lead?
And I could play the background, background
And you could take the lead

I know I'm safest when I'm in Your will, and trust Your Word
I know I'm dangerous when I trust myself, my vision blurred
And I ain't got no time to play life's foolish games
Got plenty aims, but do they really Glorify Your name?
And it's a shame, the way I want to do these things for You, yeet
Don't even cling to you, take time to sit and glean from You
It seems like You were patient in my ignorance
If ignorance is bliss, it's 'cause she never heard of this

(i'll try to post on something other than a song next time).

stones under rushing water

Why don't we dance anymore?
I'm not ok with that.
Why don't we laugh anymore?
I'm not ok with that.

As the years roll by like stones under rushing water,
We only know ,we only know when it's gone.
Yeah the years go by like stones under rushing water.
We only know, we only know when it's gone.

Why don't we smile anymore?
I'm not ok with that.
Why don't we dance slowly?
I'm not ok with that.

As the years go by like stones under rushing water,
We only know we only know when it's gone.
Yeah the years go by like stones under rushing water.
We only know, we only know when it's gone.
Oh when it's gone.

As the years roll by like stones under rushing water,
We only know, we only know when it's gone.
Yeah the years roll by like stones under rushing water
We only know, we only know when it's gone.

Why don't we dance anymore?

------------

as most of y'all know, i've really been liking remedy drive, they have some really awesome lyrics:

"You came into a broken race, took my place."

"King of failures(talking about himself), took my place, now i stand upright before your face somehow"

"All along I was looking for something else, You’re something else. All along I was looking for something more, You’re so much more."

"You’re like a tune I’ve only heard about, let me hear that song hear it loud and strong."

"I crossed the line it's true, when I left my throne behind for you, I gave it all for you, you’re so valuable."

"Come away I'll separate my people, come away I'll separate my own."

Real Thing

soooooooooooo. . . today is sunday. . . and they guy who usually does the lesson in the sunday school was out of town. and since my older brother didn't want to do the lesson, it fell on me. yep, i got to do sunday school with the kiddo's. things were running a little late and so we started five minutes after the appointed time, and just as we got done with the lesson and music, kole came in and told me that dad had just started the parenting class (which means that we had 45 minutes left), so i was pretty bummed because we had used up most of our material. the kids didn't mind, we got to play extra games.

and tonight we get to go to our youth's crazy love series at a friends house, it's going to be awesome.

Real Thing
Remedy Drive

It's taking larger doses now
to make us feel alive
while we’re on the edge
of something much more real

don’t leave me to my emptiness
this grayscale silhouette
this senseless repetition of our days
this counterfeit

give me the real thing not this
watered down or in between
I want the real thing not this middle ground
I want the sight unseen

addicted to this present tense
these dollars make no sense
we chase the wind this gold can’t validate our existence

give me the real thing not this
watered down or in between
I want the real thing not this middle ground
I want the sight unseen

shadow, shadow, where's
your substance
where’s your shine
shadow, shadow, i want the
substance of this time

despicable me is one of my all-time favorites! i can't seem to get over how cute agnes and the minions are! if you haven't seen this you definately should.
Ky

Two reasons I'd last long in a Zombie attack. . .

yeah i know kade just did one like this but i had to steal his thunder.

1: i am known as the Ultimate Killer, and Ky, the All-American American.
2: if things go wrong i can call kade's red phone.

okay fine i'll give you some more.

3: my choice of weapons would be a desert eagle and a K-bar (really big marine knife).
4: i'm a very good shot.
5: a guy who was a world champion kick-boxer showed me some of his sweet moves.
6: if the gun doesn't take it out, and neither does my knife, or my kick boxing moves, i can run fast, (faster than a zombie at least).
7: i can always switch to a mini-gun if the battle gets too hot.

i would love to know why y'all would last long(er) in a zombie attack if y'all won't mind braggin' a bit.

if you post it on your blog leave me a comment to tell me, cause i might not see it if you don't.

more than your average every-day guy. . .

American Dream
Switchfoot

When success is equated with excess
The ambition for excess wrecks us
When top of the mind becomes the bottom line
When success is equated with excess

If you’re time ain’t be nothing for money
I start to feel really bad for you honey
Maybe honey put you’re money where your mouth’s been running
If you’re time ain’t be nothing but money

I want out of this machine
It doesn’t feel like freedom

This ain’t my American dream
I want to live and die for bigger things
I’m tired of fighting for just me
This ain't my American dream

When success is equated with excess
When we’re fighting for the beamer, the lexus
As the heart and soul breathing the company goals
Where success is equated with excess

I want out of this machine
It doesn’t feel like freedom

This ain’t my American dream
I want to live and die for bigger things
I’m tired of fighting for just me
This ain't my American dream

Cause baby’s always talkin ‘bout a ring
And talk has always been the cheapest thing
Is it true would you do what I want you to
If I show up with the right amount of bling?

Like a puppet on a monetary string
Maybe we’ve been caught singing
red, white, blue, and green
But that ain’t my America,
That ain’t my American dream

i don't know about y'all, but i want to make my life worth something, i want to get married, have as many kids as the Lord will give us, i want to have a house that's just the rights size to bless others, and my family. not really sure about the dog or the white picket fence, those would be nice but not necessary. like switchfoot says, "i wanna live and die for bigger things." when i die, i want people to say "man. . . that guy was totally sold-out, on-fiya, CRAZY for his Savior!" not "man. . . that guy had a really nice house." i want to be a great daddy, husband, leader, follower, christian, servant, brother, son, friend. i want to go the opposite way, and be willing to loose it all for God.

Plans?

this is the last day i'm going to do this:

28: Hopes, Dreams and plans you have for the next 365 days

Hopes, too many to number. Dreams, way to many. Plans? i wanta go to national convention, score a few goals in this spring season (for all y'all who don't know me, i am an avid soccer player), love my family, serve as much as possible, go to venture, and much more. it would take way too long to list all my hopes and dreams, so i'll keep it simple and just do plans.

tfo

i know, i know, you've all probably seen this at least ten times, but bear with me. my brother, kade, is a super awesome dude, totally of fiya for God, and missions, and the lost, orphans, so i know first-hand how awesome this organization, and if it would convince y'all i just recently gave $50 to the organization (i would have given more, had i had more). If you can't donate, your prayers would be even more awesome, and also if you could tell your friends and urge them to donate. James 1:27 "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." kade is really going after this verse, and if it makes him look weird because he cares, he's okay with that. all he's cared about is that these kids are looked after, and that they have a chance in this world. who knows, maybe someday one of these kids who were blessed by kade's selflessness may become a missionary to his city/country and end up leading many to Jesus. it's really a great organization, and every donation is God-sent. i hope many of you will be willing enough to donate and tell friends, oh yes, and your prayer.

now i have two more questions i have to answer.

26: A childhood memory.
when i still lived in CA we used to go to a park up in the mountains called Frasier Park. i thought it was the coolest place, because it snowed there. and that was the only time i ever got to see snow.

27: A physical feature you love.
i was wondering bleah if you wouldn't mind if i changed this a little? Here:
27: A feature you love in someone.
you could also call it inside beauty, i love someone who is forgiving, or doesn't take offence easily. i think that's the greatest.

sorry bleah, it's just i don't think i'm ready to share that yet. no offence.

yeah i know this is a pretty long post so i'd better just sign off, i hope y'all will be willing to give a little, tell your friends, and pray for our organization. 'cause really it's not a one-man-band, many other teens are involved in this organization, it was just kade's idea.

Get to Know You

24: A movie no one would expect you to love.

Wives and Daughters. i love that movie, i love most jane austens and elizabeth gaskel books made into movies. stuff like pride, and prejudice, sense and sensibility, emma, cranford, and more.

25: A recipe.

are you kidding? i'm a guy. i don't use a sissy recipe book or note. my mom tells me what to put in, and if i want to add a touch of genius to it i do it without being scolded by a darn book. everything else i do from the top of my head, or make up myself. and i cook a lot. strike that. . . i love to cook.

Get to Know You

Remedy Drive

I heard so much of you I wrote a book
Thick with facts of you that I heard were true
The critics read my work and they reviewed
"He wrote of things he'd heard but never really knew"

I’d say it's time that I get to know you
More then just what I’ve been told
I’d say it's time that I get to know you
I want to know from my soul

I was so close but I was still without
How could I be so right and still be so wrong
You’re like a tune I’ve only heard about
Let me hear that song - hear it loud and strong!

I’d say it's time that I get to know you
More then just what I’ve been told
I’d say it's time that I get to know you
I want to know from my soul

i am way too humble for my own good. . . :)

19: A talent of yours.

i'm not boasting here, but i've heard that i can sing well, don't ask me, i'm too humble. :)

20: a hobby of yours.

you might call blogging a hobby, bleah would call it a lifestyle, but i'm not that far. sorry.

21: Something you know you do differently than most people.

i get really emmotional when i hear songs that say something along the lines of "i don't know how you love me like you do, it's so good to belong with you. . ." i totally get blown away by God's crazy love for me.

22: A website.

oh, that'll be easy. teens4orphans.org a organization that my older brother kade started, check it out and donate if you feel led to.

23: A way in which you want to be remembered.

i wan't to be remembered as a F-A-N-A-T-I-C for Jesus.

well i've finally made up for those days i missed, but i had legit reasons to miss them, i was busy all yesterday, like i was gone most of the day with my mom, mondays i'm not allowed on the computer, and sunday my uncle was in from california and i wanted to be with him (and i had a really good book.) saturday i was practicing frisbee with my team (yes i'm going to nc, and it's going to be awesome! ask me later.) so i've been swamped. ttfn!

okay ya'll i was just thinkin', and i thought that y'all might have been thinking that because i use the word y'all and thinkin', that i talk with a big southern accent, but really i don't. really. you can ask hayley, hayden, or nathan (all followers of my blog, who also go to my church). just had to make that clear really quick. (i actually have a nice californian accent. :)

songs that make me cry

a song that makes you cry.

oh. my. goodness. . . now why isn't it a movie that makes me cry, that woulda been easier (*wink, wink, hayley*) though there are a few songs that make me cry like:

Heaven Song
Phil Wickham

Because of Your Love
Phil Wickham

Yesterdays
Switchfoot

there are a few others but it would take too long to list.

Ky

oh and btw the quote i posted was from daylight, by remedy drive.

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

"the darkness mut proceed the dawn. . ."

"the darkness must proceed the dawn, so wait with me here, til the sunrise"

remember, light is coming, but night is just as real as the light. in the end light will win, and the eternal sunrise will be our rescue.

three more

a guilty pleasure.

well not really sure if i have a pleasure that makes me feel guilty.

a vacation you would like to take.

you know i'd have to think about that a while before i answered. maybe ecuador?

a person you admire.

there are so many people i admire, but i think i'd have to say a guy i met at teenpact. his name is jeremiah, he was only sixteen, but he acted like a twenty-five year old. at the end of teenpact they had us guess all the staffers ages, and i guessed jeremiah as twenty, i was more shocked than you know when i found out he was only sixteen.

oh and i was thinkin' about the songs i would have played at my wedding, and i'm going to have to add a few more songs.

This Road
Jars of Clay

The Way of the Cross
Mat Redman

Dare You to Move
Switchfoot

all of these songs were played at my mom and dad's wedding, i was six at that time, and i still remember those songs. they had the greatest songs ever at their wedding.

titles are so hard to come by these days. . .

a photo i've taken recently?

are you really sure? i mean, i don't really even have a camera anymore, so i mean really, you couldn't have picked a worse one for me. but i won't shirk out of this one, so here goes.

yeah, i know, not the greatest picture ever, but hey, i like never use a camera.
a song you want played at your wedding.
All the Way My Savior Leads Me!

All the way my Savior leads me,
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His tender mercy,
Who through life has been my Guide?

Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort,
Here by faith in Him to dwell!
For I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well;
For I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well.

All the way my Savior leads me,
Cheers each winding path I tread,
Gives me grace for every trial,
Feeds me with the living Bread.

Though my weary steps may falter
And my soul athirst may be,
Gushing from the Rock before me,
Lo! A spring of joy I see;
Gushing from the Rock before me,
Lo! A spring of joy I see.

All the way my Savior leads me,
Oh, the fullness of His love!
Perfect rest to me is promised
In my Father’s house above.

When my spirit, clothed immortal,
Wings its flight to realms of day
This my song through endless ages:
Jesus led me all the way;
This my song through endless ages:
Jesus led me all the way.

we sang this song at my family's personal bible time today and i was convicted that God has every step planned, from the day i was born, to the day i get married, to the day i die. it's really an incredible song, so true, so good, and so comforting. i mean what honest Christian doesn't like the idea that God has your whole life planned out ahead of you?

day six question:

a moment you wish you could relive.

gosh, i don't really know, oh yes. last year i was down in texas with some friends, and we rode dirtbikes. i wish i could go back and take some videos.

five things you couldn't possibly live without.

Jesus, of course, parents, the bible, music, church.

A thank you letter to someone who has changed your life.

Thank you so much Dad for being an amazing witness of Jesus to me. I want you to know that I love you and thank you again.

a photo you took yourself.

well i don't really have anything to brag about so i just won't do anything.

and as most of y'all know yesterday was my birthday and so HAPPY BIRTHDAY ME!!!!! thanks y'all for all the nice comments!

i know i'm fallin' behind, but. . .

day four question: Q: A favorite tv program.

A: I'd have to go with hayley, don't have cable, don't have a favorite tv program.

day five question: Q: A favorite quote.

A: "i don't know how you love me like you do, it's so good to belong with you."

either daniel, david, philip, or paul zach, the four brothers that make up the band remedy drive, wrote this in the song belong with you. i'm mean, why does God love us the way he does, and it's an amazing feeling to think that we belong to him.

moving on. . .

another favorite song for my birthday countdown thingy:

Rescue
Seabird

I'm pushing up daisies, I wish they were roses
I feel like I'm drowning but nobody knows it
I'm pushing up daisies, I wish they were roses
I feel like I'm dying, just want you to notice

somehow the grave has captured me
show me the man I used to be
just when I feel my breath is running out

the earth moves and you find me, alive but unworthy
broken and empty, but you don't care
cuz you are my rapture, you are my savior
when all my hope is gone, I reach for you
you are my rescue
you are my rescue

I'm swimming to safety, but even with my best
if I don't see that rope soon, this might be my last breath

somehow the grave has captured me
show me the man I used to be
just when I feel my breath is running out

the earth moves and you find me, alive but unworthy
broken and empty, but you don't care
because you are my rapture, you are my savior
when all my hope is gone, I reach for you
you are my rescue

don't let me drown can you hear me
cuz I am callin' out
I'm underground
won't you pull me out

the earth moves and you find me, alive but unworthy
broken and empty, but you don't care
because you are my rapture, you are my savior
when all my hope is gone, I reach for you
you are my rescue
you are my rescue
yeah, you are my rescue
yeah! you are my rescue

I'm pushing up daisies, I wish they were roses
I feel like I'm dying, just want you to notice...

Hope, tangled, and some extremely crazy love from an overwhelming God!

so i missed yesterday's question so i'll do two today, but only one song.

Q: A favorite movie?

A: oh gosh, this is hard, i really have no clue what my favorite movie is, and since everyone else would say either narnia or lotr, i'll chose a different one. oh yes, tangled, that's my answer.

Q: A favorite book?

A: i don't know, i read a ton, but i'd have to go with haydener and say crazy love by francis chan.

Hope
Remedy Drive

What a beautiful sight for the worn and weary eye
The glimmering light in the corner of a broken sky
Hope sweet hope like a star burning bright
When the sun goes down and the fears begin to fly

Hope’s not giving up
Hope’s not giving up
In a cold dark night she’s not giving
Not giving up

Hold on tight this city’s about to break
In the middle of the night lying there wide awake
Hope sweet hope how much more can she take
Being our strength when our hearts are out of faith

Hope’s not giving up
Hope’s not giving up
In a cold dark night she’s not giving
Not giving up

Hope is with me in my time of trouble
When it all comes crashing down she will stay
By my side digging through the rubble
She’s not giving up - not giving up - not giving up

Hope’s not giving up
Hope’s not giving up
In a cold dark night she’s not giving
Not giving up

i've recently started to really like remedy drive, and they are making their way up to becoming one of my favorite bands very quickly. i hope you enjoy the song, and until tomorrow!

blogger challenge, and my birthday thingy. . .

okay, so i agreed to do a blogger challenge thing with Bleah and a few other select, and i also wanted to do something else in celebration of the week before my birthday. the thing i decided to do for my birthday was writing down one of my favorite songs everyday leading up to my birthday. the first question goes along with my birthday-week thing.

Q: A favorite song.
A: Valuable, by Remedy Drive.

The scar that's in my side says
As the sea is wide my love is more so
I’m everything you need
Don’t you know the blood I bleed is for you - don't you know

I bridged the gap you see
I’ll supply your every lack and need
To bring you back to me
You’re so valuable

Child can't you see
You’re worth more than all the world to me - you're priceless
You’re the iris in my eye
And I hold you up so high - I hold you priceless

I bridged the gap you see
I’ll supply your every lack and need
To bring you back to me
You’re so valuable

Don’t you know
You’re worth so much to me
Don’t you know

I crossed the line it's true
When I left my throne behind for you
I gave it all for you
You’re so valuable

Don’t you know
Don’t you know

if you haven't heard this song before, YOU HAVE TO!

so as i mentioned in the title above, a few cool things happened worth blogging about. first, we finally got some snow! about four-three inches, and it's so powdery that we can't make a gigantic snowman out of it! but it will be in a few days. two, we got to go to fast lane with hayden, and hayley, and some of their friends. it was so awesome. we were playing laser tag with some other people, and they were cheating really bad. . . one lady grabbed hayden's gun and threw it to the ground, and then shot him. . . one guy ran around covering two of his targets. . . and another kept blocking my gun. . . but after all that we beat them, strike that reverse, we crushed them, 5,000 to 2,000! it was so awesome! and, lastly but not least, nathan is coming to teenpact! i was so thrilled when God answered my prayers and let nathan come! i can't imagine teenpact without him, (even though he's really kade's bud). so yeah, i can safely saw that 'a few cool things' happened.

Oh man. . .

yeah, so i've been really busy, lately getting ready of teenpact, homework, getting clothes and other things i'm going to bring, etc, etc. . . it seems like i keep getting new work like everyday. the good news is i get to ride down in the cool car. all the people from our church are going down in it, so i'm super excited about that. today we get to have some new foreign exchange students over and have an 'American Lunch' which is going to be really cool. hope y'all have a good saturday!

". . .prediction? pain. . ." & "i seem to have a pain in my thumb in phenomenal dimensions."

so a few things have been going on to keep me from posting these past few days, but the main reason was that sunday night we were at a friends house and we were playing some football. it was snowing, and dark outside so when kole threw it to me i made a bad calculation and caught it straight on my thumb. yeah, i'm still trying to decide whether it is broken, sprained, or what. in addition to seriously hurting my thumb i fell off their six foot wall, and slipped on the snow on the street and bruised my thigh, and buried my hand in a pile of snow (you might not believe this, but it was cold). yeah, i think whenever i'm around this specific family, i always get hurt. i had been working at a house they bought and every time i was there i got hurt. busted my head, caught my hand between the lever of the dumpster and the dumpster (which hurt like the dickens!), fiber-glass in my eye, got whipped in the face by a very spiky tree (which i legitimately named the stupid tree) and much much more (oh and i had some really painful, heavy, hard plaster fall from the ceiling on my head). so yeah, i have a good excuse for not posting in a while. anybody feeling like good news? or do y'all want to stick with painful not so good news? good news is my thumb is feeling good enough to post! (which is why I'm here now.) well i think i've probably posted enough, so later!

p.s. the title was a quote from mr. t when he played clubber lane in rocky III, and the other on was from cranford, but a little changed.

personality quiz

so today on my dad's blog he put up a personality quiz. this was my score/answer:

Others see you as sensible, cautious, careful & practical. They see you as clever, gifted, or talented, but modest. Not a person who makes friends too quickly or easily, but someone who's extremely loyal to friends you do make and who expects the same loyalty in return. Those who really get to know you, realize it takes a lot to shake your trust in your friends, but equally that it takes you a long time to get over if that trust is ever broken.

that pretty much describes me.

teenpact

okay, so in about two and a half weeks i am going to teenpact! the renfrows are coming too! ( i just found out this morning (nobody ever tells me these things)) it was a great surprise though, they were a little late in signing up, so they were on the waiting list, and i guess a spot opened up for them. and as far as i know three other people (besides the renfrows) from our church are coming too! i am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited!!!! i can't wait! i also have a hunkin' lot of homework to do for teenpact. i have to write a mock bill and i think it might be on being able to ride a dirtbike or atv on public property, not sure yet. though some of the homework is pretty fun. one of the cool things about teenpact is you have wear a suit all the time except for casual days.

Happy New Year y'all!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, and welcome to 2011!!!

so believe it or not, in addition to my nana and papa coming from CA, my friends, the Mullens, whom i stayed with for a week in MN for my first missions trip, came in today.  i scared their young kids with my costume below.

p.s. please click on the link i put in, showing what the mullens do up in MN.  i'm telling you, it's pretty hard-core.  i stayed with them one week and we were street evangelizing, visiting the homeless, and much, much more.
